Linuxmint 7 64 bit, which is based on Jaunty Jackalope (Ubuntu 9.04)

I like to have my Trash Can on my desktop.

Here is how it is done.

run gconf-editor and then navigated to apps/nautilus/desktop , then ticked trash_icon_visible.

Also in Linuxmint 7 you can go to Menu > Preferences > mintDesktop, check off Trash
